2003-09-11 - 3:26 p.m. Tris McCall's record release party at the Mercury Lounge last night was lotsa fun. Dripping with red scarves, his band exudes new-wavey slinkiness, and Tris himself is a very natural synthetic performer. What do I mean by that? I mean, the earnestness of his solo act morphs into a delightfully self-aware show-biz bravado when you get him in front of a band.
