2004-03-18 - 2:06 p.m. I finished How to Be Good finally (I only read on the train, and only occasionally, so it takes me weeks to finish even a medium-length book). Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It reminds me of one of Julian Barnes' interstitial comedy/romances: light reading, but still very insightful and funny. The only problem is that Hornby lands the plot unskillfully--after a graceful beginning and middle, the whole thing comes to a thudding halt at the end. Next on the docket: Fortress of Solitude.
