2004-07-07 - 9:10 a.m. Had a great dinner at Shabu Tatsu the other night when my attempts to see The Mother (I'll see or read anything that Hanif Kureishi is involved in) were foiled by a malfunctioning air conditioner at the Quad. What a wonderful concept in dining--you cook your own food at the table, either by boiling or grilling. Hunks of vegetables, tofu, and seafood (or meat, if you swing that way), all a-sizzle. No passive, mindless chowing down, you have to work for it, and this method has the healthful advantage of slowing down the eating process, so a simple meal takes an hour.
By the way, the folks who did the review above also reviewed Red Lobster.
This is a neat panoramic photo of the ol' Tribute in Light.
Willy Wonka was prescient.
