2004-11-11 - 2:08 p.m. There aren't a lot of labels whose taste in music I trust 100% of the time, but Merge comes close. I've belatedly discovered M. Ward, whose 2003 release Transfiguration of Vincent has had me all agog today. Like his pals Giant Sand, he does "pretty" and "soulful" and "acoustic" and "aching" with aplomb.
