2005-04-09 - 10:50 a.m. Went to see Carol Lipnik at the Living Room last night. She is captivating, a songwriter who taps into the dark, cabaret-carnival vein that many folks in NYC seem to favor, but with an ethereal vocal style that elevates it to something otherworldly. Her two-person backing band achieves a surprisingly full, at times almost orchestral, sound. And spring has indeed sprung. After three fairly intense weekends in a row, I look forward to doing nothin'...although Coney Island beckons...can you hear it? Caw..caw... thoughts?
