While some people are intent on blowing themselves and innocent civilians up, cold seep clam communities are thriving under the Larsen Ice Shelf. La vita accende.

The kids, they love M. Ward. Last night Castle Clinton was a temple of hushed reverence for this shy, capable fella and his adequate but not too exciting band. He did two encores!

I was especially delighted by a slow-core version of "Green River" that accentuated the menace of the original.

Castle Clinton is a charming and unusual place to hear music. The sound isn't great and the overzealous security guards make it seem like you're watching Johnny Cash at San Quentin, but still, it's nice to be outside, near the water, with an orderly crowd.
