Friday night I saw Preacherman at Laila Lounge. He (they?) were excellent, engaging, and the audience (the biggest Friday night crowd I've seen at Laila) were really into it.

I have finished Ian Hunter's tour diary. It's a great slice of life memoir, not artfully written but still well-done and a compelling read. He goes on about flying in airplanes, crappy stage sound, dieting, pawn shops, his wife's Long Island family, and other surprisingly mundane matters, but it's all the more charming for its familiarity. And in between these bits are thoughtful reflections about America, racism, politics, and David Bowie's then-nascent Aladdin Sane album.
