2008-05-17 - 9:06 a.m. I have not (yet) formed a bond with the new Long Blondes disc--the songs are kind of slight--but I like the overall vibe. With its plodding pseudo-disco rhythms and artful vocals (which range from an annoying soprano to a casually conspiratorial Delta 5-like throaty song-spiel) it could have been a Rough Trade release from 1980, and that's one of my pet sounds...
