2008-09-05 - 11:30 a.m. The other day, Mr Devastationalist was rhapsodizing about Harriet the Spy as a must-read for artists. Along the same lines, if you only have five minutes, or you are feeling even more age-regressive, or if indeed you have children, Thank You Bear is a nice parable about the fickleness (and irrelevance) of public opinion, a necessary concept for anyone who puts their stuff out on display in any capacity. In certain moods, I really like the Drones, who, like their countryman Nick Cave, play the anthems of dark and tangled interior scrublands...
