Well, I didn't see MANCHURIAN so I'm off the hook. But I know hows ya feels: why didn't anyone tell me Martha Wainwright (and her brother, and their pop) was in THE AVIATOR?

Why didn't someone tell ME Kris Kristofferson was in Blade I, II AND III?

Darlin', maybe it's just cuz I'm sub'd to the Robyn list - but I thought everyone knew about that! Why didn't anyone tell me there were photos on the net of Liz Phair in panties and a fishnet t-shirt? Oh wait - somebody did tell me that. (PS: I have to share: on the list I read that info on - many of you know which list I mean, but it's nominally a music list - someone, whom I truly hope was being the most deadpan comic imaginable, remarked in true pop-geek style, "Hey! That's Brendan Benson between her legs!" In fact, she was holding a copy of Benson's latest CD in said position... But, uh, not really what most guys would notice, I'd say.)

wasn't that an RH tune playing during the convention scene, too? i didn't stick around to confirm it in the credits. ok, just googled it -- 'twas Robyn covering a Ray Davies song ('Better Days')

"Better Things" is one of my favorite Kinks songs! I have always wanted to cover it. So I'm both happy and slightly peeved that RH covered it already. I didn't notice it on the soundtrack, though!
Believe it or not, I'm still watching the movie--I haven't had time to sit down and view the whole thing, so I'm watching it in installments. It's really good, and that comes from someone who loved the original and tends to hate remakes....

OK, finally saw the whole movie, and "Better Things" is in the election night scene, not the convention scene, so I just hadn't gotten to it yet.
What a swell film! I really like how Denzel was both a sympathetic character and just a tad psycho. And Meryl Streep is utterly wonderful, as always. I've read that she was aping Hillary Clinton for the role, and that seems like an accurate assessment.

She was actually "aping" Bushie, Karen Hughes. The VRWC was where you read the other thing.
