Sounds like the "Fishing With John" shows I checked out from the library. I don't know if they were "directed" by Jarmush (they weren't very directed), but I think he was the featured guest in one of them. The scenery was at least compelling in some of them, though. And at least in the Willem Defoe one they got what they deserved (Defoe and John Lurie died on their eighth day of ice fishing, according to a blurb at the end). But just now, courtesy of you, Paula, I at least know who John Lurie is. Oh, and the "UP" in question the other day was the Upper Peninsula of Michigan;; I saw that on a bumper sticker down here once ("Say Ya to da...) and myself did not know what it meant, at the time. Just thought since you were saying yes to Michigan, you might know (periods might've helped).
