I despise the texture of eggplant, and can only eat it if it's pureed to the point of being unrecognizable (as in baba ghanoush). But whatever rocks your boat!

Ugh.

Weren't you both anti-peanut butter, too?

Peanut butter...o foul substance.

Yeah, not liking the peanut butter, unless it's part of a Reese's cup or something. Is there a genetic link between eggplant dislike and PB dislike? I doubt it, since I bet more people dislike eggplant.

Paula -- I made a fairly rockin' pasta sauce chock full o' aubergine and other veggies. The eggplant is roasted and melts into the sauce. Let me know if you want the recipe.

The recipe sounds good, but I'd rather take the Fungwah to Boston and experience it first-hand.

Peanut butter has its moments. But eggplant is da bomb. It's even shaped like one. Baby Party and Flasshe are just missing out, though BP's in with the baba (and of course I respect peoples' texture things): they do not get to enjoy yummy caponata, eggplant parmigiana, or just plain ole' eggplant slices brushed with oil and vinegar and prepared on the grill. Or Editrixie's pasta sauce, which I hope one day to sample myself.

Yay, come visit! We have more tomatoes than we can eat (though we are making a valiant effort). Go lycopene!
