No collection of "train" songs is complete without the Shangri-Las' "Train From Kansas City." And, dazzle your friends with the inclusion of the soulful "That Train Don't Stop There Anymore" from Elton's (stylistic) comeback effort of a few years ago.

A great song: "My Baby Thinks He's a Train" by Roseanne Cash.

And the similarly titled Half Man Half Biscuit song "The Light At The End Of The Tunnel (Was The Light Of An Oncoming Train)". Not to mention "Love Train". Or "Dream A Little Dream Of Me".

well, I think you should write your own song called "dream train", it should be about loving pop music.

What I want to know is, how many of your iTunes tracks are monkey-related?

Trixie:

Jeepers--"Apeman" by the Kinks is the only one on there now...but I do have a LOT of Monkee-related songs!

I simply cannot believe that we've gotten this far in the comments on this topic with no one mentioning "I Often Dream of Trains" by Robyn Hitchcock. Shame! Also: I made a mix years ago called "Apefest Ninety-Ape" (it was 1998), I believe because a few of us were slated to watch a couple Planet of the Apes movies. Songs about monkeys, apes, chimps - even bananas (hello Anton!), we were promiscuous. I could make a better mix now though.
