I saw 'El Crimen Ferpecto' as well, and thought the script was about 2 drafts away from actually being good -- but I liked the idea, and the director, Alex De La Iglesia, has made a couple of good films, including 'Dia de la Bestia', and 'Perdita Durango' (known as 'Dance With The Devil' here in the states). They might be a little too harsh for your tastes though (Hell, maybe for mine as well). Yeah, farces are tough, and usually don't come off well -- can't say I care for '3rd Rock', but I refuse to hear any maligning of 'What's New, Pussycat?' -- not even from its' writer and star, Mr. Woody Allen.

'El Crimen Ferpecto'

And that's another thing--I've seen it spelled both ways, the joke way and the regular way. Do you know what the director intended?

'And that's another thing--I've seen it spelled both ways' The IMDB does indeed have this listed under 'Crimen Ferpecto', which leads me to believe that this was the original title under which it was marketed in Spain. Undoubtedly some American marketing genius found this confusing and changed it to 'El Crimen Perfecto' for the American release. Why not just call it 'The Ferpect Crime'? Don't they know that the arthouse audience can actually get a pun? Why am I surprised that the (so-called) Entertainment Industry consistently underestimates our intelligence? I work in it, don't I? I'll stop now.
