Congratulations, Paula! I think you assured the book's longevity with your auperb choice of a title, by the way. (I quite literally couldn't imagine a better one for a yoga tome.) Titles are so important when it comes to marketing anything creative. I believe Ron Howard's movie "Cinderella Man" would've been another huge hit if he'd named it "Braddock" after the protagonist instead of figuratively dressing Russell Crowe in a frilly pink tutu with that title. (Opie's speaking at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria this coming Saturday, by the way.) Al Franken said that after he thought of the title "Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot," he immediately took a long weekend off to luxuriate in the fact that he'd already created a bestseller before typing one word of the actual text. As for being translated into Russian, you're going to have to keep a copy of one of those both at home and work, just to look at it from time to time. You'll be able to tell people that you "can't read my own writing." Now I'm going to try to shut up for a while. I've noticed that I'm the most longwinded bastard on this blog by powers of magnitude (so to speak) and I need to give people a break until I can afford to hire a suitably ruthless editor for my responses.

Hey, AQUACADE turned a profit, remember? You donated it to a Quaker peace organization.

No, no "Quaker Peace" was running at Belmont.

What were the odds? Did it come in in the money?

Congrats! When's the sequel coming out? My suggestion for a title is: Yoga: Still Going!.

Or, Yoga for Shut-Ins.

Nah, the world really, truly does not need another yoga book, by me or by anyone. I'd just as soon put out a reggaeton compilation. But I will write somethin' else! Suggestions welcome.

But what about volume 3? Real Gone Yoga?

Flasshe - 2005-11-29 17:22:46
Okay, if you don't want to stay with the Yoga theme, I guess you can stick with the "to go" theme instead. Monkey Rearing To Go?

Or Yogoraphobics: Yoga for Shut-ins. Okay, I'll stop.

BTW, the "Belmont" comment is the funniest thing I've read today.

Thanks--perhaps I could write an instructional manual for the aspiring wise-acre.

In Europe would that be "for the aspiring wise-hectare"? I hear the next big thing is mpreg yoga rubber wristbands.
