The one on the left. The guy on the right was played by Andy Serkis.

Interesting... my (sober) impression of Reese's speech was that she had been practicing it in front of a mirror for the past 2 months. Very rehearsed & faux sincere, IMO. Enjoyed Clooney's more, since he eschewed the long list of thank yous.

That's OK by me--I wish Philip S. H. had practiced his in a mirror for 2 months!

Tsotsi's director had a stirring speech, too.

I was just thinking how much Ryan Phillipe got dissed. The only time the camera showed him was as Witherspoon's arm candy. He was in the movie that won best picture, after all. But they just cut to Matt Dillon all the while, because he was on the poster, perhaps? Maybe they just forgot about Ryan? I myself forgot until just now. Or did I just miss the cutaways to Phillipe, because I wasn't (truth be told) paying all that much attention?

Erich: I had the same thought--but they really didn't pan to any of the Crash cast members. Matt D. was a nominee, so I think that's why they kept a-showin' him.

Oscar? Who's this "Oscar" fella?

I think it was because he was just too blonde, and you couldn't see him in that beige-blonde sea
