Ditto on TSATW. Saw it on DVD originally. I also recently saw Me and You and Everyone We Know and it kind of reminded me of TSATW. Similarity in plot a bit, similarity in quality, and in the performances. Jeff Daniels was just outstanding though in a very tough role.

Thanks Paula, my fellow Aires! Fun times on Sat. You have a most excellent group of fam and friends.

Tom: word--Jeff Daniels is perfectly obnoxious and petulant and touching in that role, and Owen Kline is an astounding kid actor.

Liza: Thanks, and I agree: I am fortunate to be surrounded by the nicest people.

Where did you see Squid and the Whale with the crappy sound? Because, both times I saw it at the Angelika the sound was god-awful. It's a poor man's Royal Tenenbaums, but a damn good one at that!

Eric, I saw it at the little cinema on Henry Street in BK Hts.

To me, TENENBAUMS and SQUID are apples and oranges.

Paula, I agree about Kline. His line at the end was probably the most poignant. When he asks Laura Linney if they can go to the Galapagos, and she says they could go on Saturday, and he goes "Saturday's dad's day." I'm looking forward to whatever Bambauch has next, and its something thats coming out later in the year, I think I read.
