It might be because of my diminished state but for some reason I thought you'd be referring to Cheetah Chrome. There are a few physical similarities http://www.official-john-nikolai.com/CheetahChrome.html

BP: There's a B&BW at the Atlantic Center--you could axe Mr. Baby Party to stop on the way home from work!

Greg: I'm speechless! That tambourine player...!

The Flaming Lips had me with The Soft Bulletin, lost me with Yoshimi... and I am not entirely sure what to make of ...Mystics yet. It just seems like a lot of the songs are odd for the sake of being odd rather than because of a need for them to be odd. Do you know what I mean? I'll give it some more time but right now it doesn't look like they've won me back.

well, I may not be the only one who hasn't even heard the new Flaming Lips rekit, but I saw them on theTee Vee about a year ago (Austin City Limits, along with Elvis C) and I thought they were fun then.

Haven't heard the new Flaming Lips yet, but I think that the Band of Horses is website is remarkably Horse-free apart from the lame stencil logo....not even a Horsie in any of their photos! I deduce that their alleged affinity with Horses is rather suspect.
