OMG,here's the weird part of the album, Ziggy Startdust's 34th anniversary is 6/6/06 the day of the beast.
Daniel Pinchbeck, author of 2012: THe RIse of Quetzlcoatl was born on 6-6-66.
His book predicts the end of linear time/end of the world or a shift in consciousness in 2012...civilzation will end in 2011, then be reborn in 2012.
2011 is FIVE YEARS from now.
The opening track on Ziggy's album is...
that's right... FIVE YEARS
My brain hurts a lot.
Five Years
That's all we've got!

Daniel Pinchbeck
Daniel does a lot of drugs, though. That's gotta impair the ol' noodle.

And thus ends possibly the second most uninspired blog entry in the history of the internet.
Don't be so hard on yourself. It's Summer. Nobody's paying much attention. But you did pique my curiousity: THE most uninspired blog entry would be.....?

Terence McKenna said 2013, coinciding with the last date on the Mayan calender. Can't speak for the Mayans but Terence also did a lot of drugs.

Ha! That's a nice way to look at it. And the most uninspired blog entry happened about a year ago--I can't remember what it was about. See?

I am currently engaged in cataloguing, by length, all the stray cat furs in our house. The results will be presented in the form of a table correlating the length of furs with the most recent edition of the official rules of golf.
That should knock your blog entry down a peg in the uninspired sweepstakes...

I had the same hopes for the last Mission of Burma record, OnOffOn, and felt similarly disappointed, so I haven't run out to purchase the Obliterati yet. The best thing I've heard from the reunited Burma was their cover of the Wipers' "Youth of America" which only proves that I am hopelessly mired in nostalgia. I do really like the most recent Buzzcocks record, though. "Wish I Never Loved You" is a perfect song.
