I admire your song choices greatly. As a matter of fact, I was toying with the idea of doing "Maneater" just last week. I went with "The Look of Love" instead though. Tomorrow night I'm planning on "The KKK Took My Baby Away", and Jet's "Are You Going To Be My Girl?".

Where do you 'oke? What's the setup?

'cita, you sounded good on those songs - I didn't hear any "woops."

Aw, thanks, Dan. I felt like I never hit the sweet spot. But you rocked da house!

There's a couple places I go regular-like, but one of them is ridiculously packed any more. If I do go there I know I'm only going to get one song and I'll have to wait at least an hour, but a big crowd is great and some really good singers go there. My current fave is kind of a DIY project with the front man of one of our local bands running songs off his laptop, but it's on an actual stage at the Hi-Dive, which is one of the local clubs and the sound is going though a real PA. I just donated an old monitor to the cause, and as of tonight we should have two, one of which will have a much better sight line for peeking at the words while still facing the audience. Kind of a mixed bag talent wise, the odd actual band member or two, but $1 drafts make everything sound groovy.

Paula, I'm sorry, but you're wrong. "Maneater" is a bad song.

C'mon, that snaky li'l hook! "O-oh here she comes..."

Maneater is a viral song. I was infected upon reading this. By the time I left work today half the people were humming it, singing it, and cursing me. There is a Hall & Oates pandemic in midtown.

We have something like that at Freddy's. In fact, one reader of this glob recently won the top prize, the $2.99 Krakus ham. Maybe he'll weigh in on his experience.

Greg: I'm so very sorry.

"It's as if someone--aliens perhaps--came down to earth some time in the 60s or 70s, hypnotized the populace, and told them: 'You're going to learn this selection of 250 pop songs. You've got 30 years--go!'" STRANGE BUT TRUE! The aliens used an insidious portable device called a "radio". Not often seen these days, but it was ubiquitous until the late 1990's.

R-radio? What is this device of which you speak? Is it...atomic?

Personal best, karoake: "Seven nation Army" (My go to song)

Personal Worst: "The First Cut Is The Deepest"

Personal best: anything by Melanie

Personal worst: an excruciating "The Joker" by Steve Miller.
