Whereas a dog views its owner as a father (or alpha male)a cat views you as its mother. The kneading motion a cat makes is the same as when its sucking on its mothers teat. That is why I suggest when you get home to grasp the back of the cats neck with your mouth and carry it around for a bit. Oh, and you can always licks its belly clean. Good bonding exercises both.

Oh, I read that apes article yesterday, was gonna send you a link, but I thought the fact of what mean buggers chimps are would be too much for your chimp loving heart...

I think, speaking as a previously obsessive cat fancier, that cats veiw us as objects, extreme objectifiers they. They veiw us as objects that sometimes dispense food and water. They make good pets, not for the love they give us, but because they are hilarious, especially when you put rubber bands on their heads.

your chimp loving heart

My love for chimps is (almost) nonsentimental. I understand that just because they smoke and ride bikes doesn't mean they aren't savage beasts at heart.

rubber bands on their heads

I'll have to try that.

nonsentimental

That should be "unsentimental" but I don't have time to fix it.

Cats are odd beasties. My sons'cat attacks me fiercely until I get really rough with him at which point he becomes affectionate in a rather creepy way. An ex's cat used to like to pounce into the middle of my back when we (me and the ex, not me and the darn cat)were in flagrante delicto and dig all four sets of claws in. That got old pretty quickly. I'm probably sharing way to much.

HA! Further proof that apes are evolved from humans!!!
