I don't think either of the Finns have done a bad album so I'd just go with all of it. Great video clip--that is, of course, the lovely and talented Lisa Germano back there on the keyboard. Yay! And speaking as a dorky Dad... sometimes we get kind of angry.

Oh, if you haven't heard them, look for Weather With You, and All God's Children--the latter of which is available in two versions, an original, and one slower semi-acoustic version on a Finn Brothers release last year.

Greg, you beat me to it, but I was also going to recommend The Finn Brothers, particularly their latest release from 2004 Everyone Is Here.

Ace Records--Wow! Just looking at the catalog and I'm going to have to see if a few are available here. I've ordered from Amazon in the UK and they're as reliable as here, but shipping is slow and dear. The Jack Nitsche collections look really interesting.

Greg:

Yeah, the Fireballs are my favorite find from their catalog.

Was looking at the Fireballs--is Codine the same one that Buffy Ste. Marie did? I was also looking at The Flaming Stars, who look interesting.

I should also mention that my mother stole my Millie Jackson album, so I may have to look into that one. She also stole my Clarence Carter!

Stole it as in "took it away from you because of the cussin'"? Or because she liked it?

Mom was visiting Brooklyn about 10 years ago--and it started with Clarence Carter singing Strokin' and I gave that one to her because she liked it. Then I had Millie Jackson on and I handed it to her after I took it off to show her... she went and stuffed it in her bag with Clarence. She said later, "Oh, I thought you were giving it to me." L'il Ms. Innocent. But it was all the way in Vermont by then...

There has been a whole raft of Finn-related material posted at jefitoblog (obvious URL) in the past week or so. Download it while it's still up!
