I really liked the last release from The Evens and I'm really looking forward to the new one! Somebody will probably have something to say, but I kind of like them more than Fugazi.

Re: sightings--NYC is all about daily celeb sightings, and this has bollocks to do with the marathon but I was sitting across from John Waters last week on the F train. He was looking rather average in old jeans and a ski jacket. People for the most part didn't even notice him, not even in the famous NYC "hey that guy is famous but I'm a hip NYer so I'm cool enough to leave him alone" way. Except for me. I love that guy but of course I'm way to cool to bubble over.

Had a Lance sighting up at my favorite spectating spot, Mile 22 at 122nd and 5th. He didn't look thrilled at that point. He was also much "bulkier" than I expected, but I guess that's what happens when you stop training for the Tour and start partying with Matthew and Jake. Oh, I saw my husband, too ;-) Rasko and his buddies all did really well b/c it was perfect running weather.

Oh, that's a good sighting!

And yay, Rasko! It was perfect yesterday--cool, clear.

From a restaurant at 116th & First, I saw a wolf and a rhinoceros, and about a dozen English women in pink fuzzy bras.

Oh, yeah that Rhino is a British guy, and he's run a couple of marathons... his picture is in the Times photo essay "Happy Belated Halloween."

The Evens "Cut From The Cloth" is now my obsession song du jour thanks to your recommendation.

Oh, cool--that's a good'un! Their lyrics are a little too literal at times, but I love the music. The drummer is so expressive.
