Paula, do you have to wear those annoying glasses for the 3-D effect?

Yup, "Nightmare" gets my vote as the best Kurt Weill musical not actually written by him. For those wondering, yes, you do need the glasses, and no, this type of thing does not translate well to home video or DVD. See it in the theater.

THE GLASSES RULE!!! Just turning around and seeing a theater full of people wearing them is half the fun. Hadn't thought about the Kurt Weill comparison, but yes, definitely.

kvetching. Nice. I agree with Tom, works much better in theater. I thought the 3D worked ok, with Oogie Boogie parts looking the best. Any movie with Pee Wee Herman singing " say that we take a cannon Aim it at his door And then knock three times And when he answers Sandy Claws will be no more"

I've seen this movie several times, but the viewings have been years apart, and every time I'm struck by how naively well-intentioned Jack Skellington is. He's a great character, as is Sally.
