As far as I can tell, I seem to be the only GbV fan in the universe who thinks Alien Lanes is by far their best and maybe one of the greatest albums of all time, but who could never get into Bee Thousand. I do love I Am a Scientist, though.

Because fans of Alien Lanes are usually even bigger fans of Bee Thousand. The first time I heard Alien Lanes, it had a profound and memorable effect like your Bee Thousand story.

I would put them neck and neck, but ALIEN LANES has the perfect "Motor Away."

Geez Louise! I guess IHoP has gone over to the NC-17 side. Um... Is Alien Lanes in Brooklyn too?

Okay... on the Global Orgasm page, they have a "button" that just says "Make A Donation." A) Are they asking for cash, and B) When you click the button it should respond with an ecstatic moan.

Robert Altman is dead? I knew I felt some strange disturbance in the force... he was a titan of creativity.

I just read that Ruth Brown died last week too. That makes me sad as well.

Geez, Global Orgasm. Sad to see such energy expended on such crap science. So much better to funnel that interest in either Darfur (for instance), or porno films.

Milton Friedman died last week, too--I was genuinely touched by that one, cuz I'd learned a lot from reading his books in my high school economics class, and had a vague sort of affection for him and Rose.

Chris--there may be some connection with porn and strife--consider that the countries with the most porn are meddling with and invading those with the least. Hmmmmmmm.

I won't even try to eulogize Robert Altman -- I think I've read about a half dozen of them all over the internet today already. But I do want to remind everyone of this: the same man who directed the sublimely beautiful "3 Women" also directed the "O.C. and Stiggs" movie. The mind boggles...

I think the most disturbing thing about that euphemism is the present progressive tense.
