Horses are not "protective" of pre-teens, as any pre-teen who deals with 'em is aware. (Course you're maybe talking 'bout a distant attraction to horses, one that, incidentally, does not involve backbones and bareback and all those other creepy things girls are into. My favorite along this line: ad slogans, coupons, and other consumer-oriented language which, clearly, is not telling the truth. On occasion, such language is close enough to a potential truth that one feels like calling them on it. I remember once, we did that with some store or other. Their reply? "Oh - that's just a slogan. It doesn't mean anything."

I remember walking past a store here in NY called Just Bulbs. They had a big "going out of business" sign on the window, and I thought, "Oh, well, I guess they should have sold one or two other things."
