I've got the Gwen Stefani album - the Sweet Escape - but my pirated album has all the song titles messed up so I didn't know for ages that Wind it Up is the yodeling one. I like Early Winter, though. Or, Now that We've Got It, as it's been mislabeled on my album. oy vey!

I'm not nearly as organized, or encyclopedic as you, but I've been reading a lot of books lately, some of them quite good, here's a few:
"Clandestine" by James Elroy; I usually skip genre writing, but I think this transcends, interesting tale, good writing.
"The Brooklyn Follies" by Paul Auster; his most straight forward novel to date, unless I've missed someting, with the added fun of local resonance for folks familiar with Park Slope.
"Point Counterpoint" by Aldous Huxley; Hadn't read much Huxley since my ambitious preccocious yoot, but this one is full of interesting character studies.
"Cruddy" by Lynda Barry; wow, this is such a dark little story, but it is so vivid and energetic... I'm still peplexed by how it could have been so enjoyable to read.
Well that's my top four list for last couple of months...

For top ten lists, don't forget about Cat Power's Greatest, which came out in January of 06 and as a result left me--and some others I imagine--thinking it was a 2005 pick Assuming you ADORE the Chan, as I do.

I think you're thinking of Michael Nesmith, who's mother invented Liquid Paper. He got rich off it.

2fs--I couldn't quite figure out how to respond to you on your blog, but a very interesting list--really well written but given my lack of knowledge of some of the mentions harder to follow. Noticed Ben Folds Five though--there first album is one of my favorites of the 90s. I heard their first single, Underground, on an UNCUT sampler and was utterly taken. Kind of lost touch after the third album or so, but it looks like it's time to check back in.
