I don't know, Carino -- Carrie Fisher's been thinking about her for years and I don't think it's helped a damn...

I found it didn't help at all... but maybe you didn't mean it that way. But speaking of old musical figures, I was somewhat shocked when my computer informed me, after I had inserted a disc, that "You're wondering now" by the Specials was composed by "Clement Seymour". That is, 'til Google reminded me that the Christmas one was Clement C. Moore... and revealed that the founder of Studio One in Jamaica was born Clement Seymour Dodd, though usually known by other names.

It was actually pretty magical--no false advertising there. Though I only saw The Baby Shakers and Lazy Lions... both stellar. That Carino chick is something else!

Bob--Coxsone Dodd was a personal hero of mine (and I'm sure countless others). He was certainly as prolific in his role in reggae as any other name that can be mentioned. There were few if any Jamaican artists worth mentioning that didn't put in time at Studio One. Very telling though that his estate maintains writing credits and publishing rights on so many classic singles. Not atypical for the times I guess.
