"The Daughters of Freya, a cult that believes sex is the solution to the world's problems." -- hmm. sounds like a reasonable enough hypothesis...

the likelyhood of accidentally eating it depends on which color you got, if you got a "tasty" color, I'd say, "probably".

I can't recommend the "Viking Funeral" treatment for your Mini -- some of the compenents are not only flammable, but downright volatile. I would suggest a simple burial or perhaps mummification instead...

Steve: really? Can you link?

Wombat: I went with silver again.

I'm waiting for the IPod Alien Implant, like a subcutaneous implant so I can upload songs right to my skull.

Though it just struck me that with all the alien lore I've heard and read, the implant could be in a somewhat lower portal on my mainframe.

that's too bad about Lucinda W. She did do a nice cover of "Gentle On My Mind" that plays over the closing credits of, ahem, that Talladega Nights movie (which we watched on New Year's Eve and which, I have to admit, wasn't too terrible)

Is that the American Freya or the Danish one? (Thank you AMG...) In researching metal bands, there are certain essential questions that will simplify your task. (1) Does the singer bellow like Cookie Monster? (2) Does the band evoke various sorts of scary, mythic, or occult imagery? (note: being named after a Norse goddess automatically qualifies this band.) (3) Does the band use that same, tired, downstroke-heavy guitar sound with loads of power-chords? If the answer to all three of these questions is yes, you may summarize the band simply by writing "they suck." If the answer to two of the questions is yes, "they pretty much suck" is adequate. (A "yes" answer to only one question merely calls band members' taste into question but does not automatically render the band's music sucky.)

Nice that you get to hear Lucinda's new album, even though it ain't out yet. I'll wait and decide for myself. I've heard this whing before about previous albums and it weren't true (to me at least)

I love the word "whinge."

Lucinda's more recent stuff seems to do ok with me in an iTunes shuffle, but I can't hack it all at once. Like I said, though, I'm not kicking her to the curb just yet.
