I like that little story, should we be able to guess what cd inspired it? oh well probably not me. I am listening to the lovely Porgy and Bess by Gil Evans and Miles Davis, and I just wrote "if you could live inside this sadness, peace would be yours".

Ha! Big respect for finding poetry through the haze of time, hairspray and nostalgia

For some reason, I know that you must be referring to Cherry Pie by Warrant. Which means that even though I understand only one word of the above comment ("Poison"), I'm wondering if that person is confusing his or her '80s hair-metal bands. Not that it really matters if that's the case - I imagine that happened a lot, even to band members, particularly in their more chemically altered states. I'm imagining a package tour with like Poison, Whitesnake, and Warrant, and some bass player in a dyed blonde spiky mullet, spandex trousers, and a top that he stole from his skanky sister - where was I in this sentence? Oh yeah - anyway, this bass player wanders onto stage, plays along primarily through muscle memory and having heard these songs, and it takes him like three songs into the set that he's in the wrong band.

How nice to wake up to that lovely little bit of fiction this morning. And I think a new aphorism has been introduced into my life-philosophy: "There is no reining in a piece of pie when it decides to fall." So true -- so very, very true. I also love the idea of interchangeable hair-band members brung so vividly to life. That was funny!

"Rush Hour" is what started this whole Fur quest. It is a perfect song.

I will keep my eyes open for Fur when I am in the Atlanta record stores. What happened to Paula's best of 2006 compilation cd?

What happened to Paula's best of 2006 compilation cd

It is still in existence as a playlist on my iTunes, but I never got around to making copies for anyone, because I am a bad person.

However, I think will pick up some CD-Rs and get crackin'. I will update it to include newer things.

Also, I blame 2fs for having made an end-of-year MP3 compilation that was so thorough and well-made that I felt spindly handing out my little 15-song comp.

I didn't get the 2fs compilation neither, dernit. Paula, do you trade cd's on lala.com? There are copies of Fur out there.
