I was also the youngest, I was always envious of my brother's superior ability to tell stories, he also joined in my parents conversations, I gave up at a very young age, and retired to art and music, now that I am older (much), I do try to make jokes to enter into adult conversations, sometimes with success.

Truth is stranger than fiction but fiction is truer.

KV's conjecture regards youngest siblings would seem true in my case also (youngest of three boys) -- although now that I'm older, I make fewer jokes; of course, I'm less inclined to enter into adult conversations these days as well...

At least Knut has Howard the Duck and Mr. Stress to keep him company.

Paula, I think you would like THE LAST MIMZY which I anno-ed this weekend. It's the best kids movie I seen since THE IRON GIANT.

I've burned out on fiction for months at a time. Sometimes too many voices can gather in the head, all muckin' about and hollerin.' It's like waiting for the last guests at a party to leave before you start cleaning up.
