Ya' know, both the turn-of-the-century-magician movies from last year had their merits -- "The Illusionist" has some great performances, and a compelling story as well. On the other hand, Chris Nolan's direction seems to get better with every film he does (and it was pretty durned good from the git-go, IMHO.

This movie would have completely escaped me (ho--sort of a pun, if you've seen the movie) until I looked up MEMENTO in IMDB to see what the director had done recently. I love MEMENTO and FOLLOWING. I didn't see the Batman movie, although it's in the netherlands of my queue.

I really enjoyed Nolan's Insomnia as well. Great performance by Robin Williams, though Pacino and Swank are underutilized in my opinion.

I think I'm the only person I know that didn't really care for Insomnia, BUT, there was something about the bleached white light in the movie that I just loved.

I liked both versions of INSOMNIA, but liked the original a bit better.

SmartMonkey Foods--cool.
