Macaque is sort of the sound it makes when someone tries to dislodge a piece of popcorn from the back of their throat... Interesting little ritual though with the boking and sniffing. In all I'd say it's less appetizing than human rituals of attraction and mating.

Yes, gotta love it whenever Science Times turns out one of their all-sex editions. And by the way, hats off to Natalie for going above and beyond with her completely gratuitous slap at Loggins & Messina.

Is any slap at Loggins & Messina gratuitous? You never wanted to swing Dan Fogelberg by his feet and club them senseless?

Well, yes, of course. That's why I tipped my hat. I only meant it was gratuitous in the sense that I marvel that ingenuity it took for her to slip it into an article about human sexual behavior in The Science Times. (And, I have to say, the idea of clubbing them senseless WITH Dan Fogelberg appeals to both my love of pageantry and my sense of economy.)

I love how the word "improbable" shows up in the url of the macaque article. And how the names of the researchers, "Elizabeth Johnson", "Eric Hill" and "Matthew Cooper", sound like aliases.
