I only took one step to supposed financial freedom; quiting physics and going into finance! The phyics articles are certainly more interesting, but working in the field requires huge dedication.

Read that physics article, I've been an amature physics fan all my life, (not amature physics, but, yeah, maybe...) anyway, reading that reinforced my sense that they are not getting to the bottom of it anytime soon, they always seem to be saying that the whole enchalada, unification, could be right around the corner, but reading their honest accounts, it sounds like smart people grasping at threads in the dark.

Well, this project, and many coming soon, is hopefully the corner that was always supposed to be ahead. It was what I was waiting for 15years ago. Which is why I quit Physics; things move way to slow....

Chris--by all accounts, some sciences are moving faster now than at any point in history. I'm still not sure exactly what these super-colliders are. Wasn't there some horror story a few years back that there was a new one that could set off a chain reaction and destroy the planet? I remember reading the story all over the place. Was that some kind of urban myth that made the straight press?

I just realized who Suze Orman is -- my ISP homepage frequently features articles by her -- and they all picture her smiling face ...uhh, excuse me, her rictus-enshrouded visage. She has the same frightening blank smile that I associate with CEO's of large companies, high ranking govt. officials and serial killers -- scary! I'd have "tiny beads of sweat collecting on my brow" too, if I tried to face down one of her books.

I've been won over by Suze. She has had a pretty interesting life and gives good advice. The volume of material is overwhelming, though; she works best if you are specifically looking for something. So it depends on what your concerns are -- maybe WOMEN AND MONEY is a better place to start.
