Yeah, one of the great 70's crime dramas - right up there with the The French Connection and The Seven Ups, IMHO. Pelham 1-2-3 also has a GREAT main title track! -- I would like to claim it as my own personal theme, whenever I enter a room...

Yeah, Dog Day Afternoon and The FC also really capture the zeitgeist of the '70s and New York in particular. It seems like Spike Lee was shooting for some of this with Inside Man, but couldn't get there.

Anywaze, it was great seeing ToP123 in a crowded theater with a very enthusiastic crowd.

I've got a weird personal connection to Dog Day Afternoon... as I went to high school with Sonny Basso's nephew and know him personally--quite by accident ended up living on the same block that he lived and parts of the movie were filmed on... odd stuff... but yes... the 70s totally. If you mix all these films with Saturday Night Fever and American Bandstand I think you get closest to what NYC was like in the 70s.
