I fell in love with Dave Edmunds' version of "Take Me For a Little While" on *Repeat When Necessary*, at the height of the Rockpile, etc. frenzy of my teenagerhood, and then re-fell all over again when I heard Evie's version as an adult.

Rebecca, I didn't know you were a Rockpile-frenzied teenager. So was I!! As a band and as their own separate entities.

The guitar solo on "Almost Saturday Night" on *Twangin'" is still my favorite guitar solo ever!

Looks like Night of the Living Dead!!! Nice songs though.

Oh, wow: when I was taking guitar lessons in high school--which only lasted about a month, which explains a lot--my teacher asked me to choose three pop songs that I wanted to learn.

And they were: "Almost Saturday Night," (cuz that opening riff is magic!), the Specials' "Do the Dog," and "Hand of Fate" from Black & Blue. (I really wanted to learn some Pretenders songs, but, to this day, have a superstition against playing them.)

That was indeed some of the most awkward and psychotic kissing I've ever seen; although, sad to admit, not some of the most "awkward and psychotic kissing" I've ever been party to...

quote:"That was indeed some of the most awkward and psychotic kissing I've ever seen; although, sad to admit, not some of the most "awkward and psychotic kissing" I've ever been party to..." -- know what you mean, I suppose that makes it quite natural looking?. LOL :-)
