Me: started teaching three weeks ago; a class in English Writing Skills. I love it so much. Am so much more inspired by the subject matter and the students. Even though I have to correct thirty first drafts by Monday. Also finishing final edits on my new novel. It's looking good and my agent will float it at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October, I think. Exercising like a mad beast: added swimming to my repetoire. Also have joined a girls' softball league (very casual!). And I'm now in a semi-band, made up of all the kids in high school who used to jam. We do the same thing on Sundays. It's just that we've got grey hair and wrinkles now!

The last and only thing I ever shoplifted: a box of Ex-Lax.

My news: We're moving to the Garden State on September 15; and I'm having a stoop sale this Saturday. Actually, it'll have to be a sidewalk sale, since an SUV obliterated my stoop about a month ago. There's still police tape!

Me: All too busy getting a cut out the door on the latest show I'm working on -- making bad TV should not be this difficult. Also, I have shoplifted more than a few things in my day; but that was back in my dissolute youth. Nowadays all my thievery is confined to participating in our capitalist system...

IndieRockB: Strangely, I've never been very moved by the NP's (tho I think that's partly some stubbornness on my part, resisting a band that I'm predestined to like). So I approached this new one with low expectations, and sure enough I was liking it by song #2.

Cool news, BP! Sorry about the stoop. We are having serious converging diva syndromes at the office. I was sent on an insulting errand to satisfy one of the divas, and ended up pulling a diva act myself: lunch uptown, menial errand, window shopping, more window shopping, Pinkberry . . .

Shoplifting, ay? Used to have a system. A grocery coat. Wouldn't do it again, but all one need do is look at my waistline to know I'm not missing too many meals.

Continuing to get acclimated to the tropical life in Asia. Counting the days to an IHOP delegation (Chris, Paula, ???) making a visit next summer. Yesterday the checkout guy at the Carrefour asked me if Deirdre was my grandson or granddaughter (ok, I need to find a colorist and I know I was 17 when my mom was my age, but ouch!) Downloaded the new Imperial Teen, which is even more polished pop and less garage-y than "On" but awesome nonetheless.
