Good grief! That Annette Peacock site is sickening!

I always try to keep an extra pair of emotional underwear in case I get caught emotionally naked. Am I right girls?!

And yet, this persistent sense of peculiar dryness...it's drivin' me crazy!

See, and as much as I appreciate Steve Swallow, Carla Bley etc., that's where they leave me cold--the persistent sense of peculiar dryness.

Thanks for accidentally spurring me (via yesterday's blog) to convert my psychic TV to compact disc (ordered the Godstar "soundtrack", which has a lot of stuff that wasn't on the vinyl). And thanks for turning me on to the Budos band, and, less directly, Sharon Jones' album "Dap Dippin'". But, I downloaded a bunch of this Manilow person, cuz you said he was cool today, and I have to say I just can't agree yet.

Bob: Haw!

The Budos Band are one of my favorite finds of the past coupla years, and, seein' as how they are from just across the Verrazano Bridge, I hope I get to see 'em play live soon.

That Godstar album is really good. I also like Trip Reset

Paula, don't be put off by Annette's website. Run, don't walk...somewhere...and get a copy of the album she made back when she was pals with David Bowie: "I'm The One." Vinyl only, I'm afraid, though I'm happy to hook you up. I like some of Carla's stuff and all, but Annette at her best wins no contest. (Her track that was on the soundtrack to Chasing Amy is pretty fab: "My Mama Never Taught Me How to Cook." That song is on a CD with the same name.)

A-ha! OK, thanks for the tip!
