I tried to see "Clayton" Sunday night, but it was all sold out. So I saw King of California a second time instead. I'll have to wait until later in the week.

Yep--all the showings of MC that I was available to see this weekend were sold out, so I ended up buying tickets online early today for the 6:20 show. A good move, cuz that show also sold out, as did the one after. Very popular film, and only playing in 2 theaters.

I've seen quite a few movies that Swinton has been in and her performance is always great -- she's from that great tradition of Brit actors who seem to vanish into a role -- so much so that it's sometmes hard to recognize her from part to the next (I'm thinking Young Adam and The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe here, specifically); as for where she's from, I believe its Planet Scotland.

Paula, Syriana is a great movie but do NOT see it. Too much reality can be painful. [Although Clooney is very good in it as is everyone else really.]

Paula--be prepared for a couple milk crates. They're next. I've not heard of this King of California BUT it explains why I keep getting random blog hits from people googling KIng of California... they land on a bit about Dave Alvin.

Tilda Swinton! Check out, if you haven't, Female Perversions. It has not only Tilda Swinton, but Amy Madigan!

Thanks, Mr L., I like Amy Madigan, too--she and Ed Harris are one of my favorite H-wood couples (Edmy Harrigan?).

I have N-flix'd the movie, but it's not yet on DVD for some reason.
