That last paragraph seems to have rendered us (ya know, like fat is rendered?) speechless for a while. Dark chocolate and dried ginger bits are - rather unfathomably - meant to be together... but that, that's just wrong.

And I don't even believe the CONCEPT of it was "meant to be shared". BAD Paula!

Though granted, it's not nearly as disturbing as "Oreo Pizza", or the ads for it....

No, no, really you must try it. The mingling of sweet and savory is the way God wanted us to ingest sugar and fat.

And to put this in perspective, the thing has been sitting on my desk all day (I sent an email around my office announcing its availability) and I have not been tempted to eat more than a square of it, because it is a self-limiting treat. That's part of its beauty.

Along the same lines, big in the south is bacon and peanut butter sandwiches.....

Uhh, yesss... I can easily believe that it's a self-limiting treat -- the very description of it has prompted me to limit it completely.

Intriguing. Maybe better if it were unsweetened chocolate, a kind of mole? Still, it probably falls in the Two Great Tastes that Taste O.K. Together.

People always be tryin to come up wit somethin crazy. Sometimes, of course, it goes horribly awry.

Er, that's "... Taste O.K. Together category".

OK, the Pork Martini I can kind of see. Hey, a little protein is good when you're slammin' down the devil's beverage.

But the tabacky-flavored gnocche? I draw the line there.

And then there's always Pig Candy.

Paula - 2007-10-11 17:10:50
Wow, pork truly is coming into its own as a snack item.

Try figs wrapped in bacon... mmmmmm... totally amazing, and I'm not even a bacon fan.

Paula - 2007-10-12 13:02:57
That sounds good--sausage (Mr Lojban's favorite processed meat product!) has long benefitted from the addition of things like apples and blueberries. Bacon with figs seems like a good fit.

Sausage with apples. Prosciutto with melon. Bacon with figs. Pig candy. I think we all know where this is going.

I know it's wrong, but what can I do?
