WARNING: that Rhino Holidayhorn link begins with the very loud sound of what is either an enormous belch or a roaring animal of some sort: I quickly hit the back button before it blew my eardrums off. Damn: please bring sanity to the web for the poor folks who enjoy listening to music on the 'puter while browsing. I'm sitting here with headphones on, listening to (at the moment) a Smart Went Crazy track from the Dischord website, when allasudden...BELCCHH!ROOAARRR!!

I'm sorry that the "roar" was upsetting for you, 2fs. It didn't seem egregiously loud or offensive to me, so it didn't seem worth warning people about.

If it looks like a duck and it squeals like a mouse...

iWombat, I just had duck with blueberry sauce on Saturday at Bacchus. So, yeah, it's weird. And I saw Michelle Williams dining at a nearby table, but you don't who that is.

It probably would have been fine on normal tinny speakers...but I had headphones on. And for some reason, I can never remember that where I should turn the volume down from "air" level when i listen to iTunes with headphones isn't in iTunes, it's the system volume - because if I leave the system volume up and iTunes' volume down, all other sounds - such as websites with annoying sound - play way louder than my music is, guaranteeing that they'll startle the poop out of me. (Note: that sentence is not to be taken literally.)

Histrionicus would be a great name for a band... maybe prog-rock, or a hair band. Or a band with progressive hair.
