Even without looking at the respective articles (although I did), I would be inclined to go with The Onion over the Times -- perhaps I'm biased
And my typical most awe-inspiring iTunes moment comes about every two weeks or so, when I set it to Shuffle/All Songs, and something comes on that makes me say to myself "Wait! What is this? And who are these guys?"

Exactly--I now own more music than I can process, and I am continually surprised and delighted by what lives in my computer.

I was so resistant to iWorld but I've become a complete convert overnight. Rather than upload a bunch of my favorites I went deep into box sets, and collections and oddities and have been walking around with about 5 straight days of stuff I haven't spent a lot of time listening to. The experience is probably closer to radio listening than anything else. Pretty much everything that comes up is a surprise! It's not hard to see why the iPod took off. So much more potential. I've started, by the way, to put together playlists much the same way I did in the 70s and 80s when I had an open reel deck. So much fun!

Well, my friend, it's about time. And yes--it's like listening to a radio station where you're the DJ and the audience at the same time.
