OK, you may not know this, but there is a high altitude wind current that blows from Africa across to Florida, carrying, sometimes, objects of various sizes and weights...my theory (having not finished reading the whole article, much better for independent theorizing) is that somehow the ape got carried aloft, and dropped into that tree! amazing!

Hey, I know that guy... I think he used to skate with me.... (Paula, you should find footage of Brazilian pro skater [and nice guy] Bob Burnquist's ramp-skating Chimpanzee [who I haven't skated with, although a friend built the ramp he skates on]).

Ya mean this chimp?

That would seem to be Burnquist's chimp, since Bob is in that movie... but it does indeed seem exploitative. I had only seen footage of him skating Burnquist's (and his) giant backyard ramp complex.

He is the most vertical primate.

And it's funny what a small world core skating is. The site you linked to, Skate and Annoy, is run by an Oregonian who garage-makes the board that Hilary rides (when she gets a chance) (it has an "Official Dickies Fan Club" bottom with a Mickey Mouse head featuring a Hitler mustache, and he also makes Epoxies and Naked Raygun decks, with their cooperation). The weirdest thing, though, was when I tried to get a copy of Toxic Reasons' "Independence" from the folks that put it out on CD, Beer City, which is a Milwaukee skateboard company slash music label. They told me they were all out of them, but gave me an 800 number for someone who might still have some in stock. I called the 800#, the person started taking only my address, and then out of the blue asked "Is this Bob?". And it turned out to be someone who had stopped by our house the year before to help my brother George with his punk rock book. But it was downright spooky at first to call a random 800 number and get pegged like that.

I'll bet that Floridian orang voted in the last election.
