I'm reading (and learning a lot from) The World Without Us so I might get around to wondering what Kansas City would look like were we gone, but since for all I know of Kansas City we might never have been there in the first place, I probably won't.

By sheerest coincidence, the company I'm working for at the moment is making a show that revolves around this very same concept, for the History Channel. It's called Life After People -- and while it's not directly based on the book, World Without Us -- it's clearly a knock-off of the same idea; it airs January 21st.

I think Jane was the most talented overall, but my favorite GoGos-as-people were always Charlotte and Kathy.
