Red Dawn is soooo awful and was on HBO 4 times a day for about 3 years. Typical John Milius style cold war propaganda. The first BSP album, by the way, was at the top of my faves list for the year it came out (which escapes me). Absolutely loved it.

You know, I have to admit, despite the ubiquity of its airings on TV, I've never seen Red Dawn...

- and I believe you're going to have the advantage over me on that front for quite some time to come.

This was my first time. It was recommended by a co-worker who was probably three or four years old when it came out, thus rendering it as kitschy and incomprehensible to him as Beyond the Valley of the Dolls was to us.

Except BVD has a much better soundtrack.

Red Dawn did give us seminal early performances by Lea Thompson and Jennifer Grey though, so we can't forget it's importance.

The Faceless Werewolves, eh? Sorry - I'm on strike against "wolf" bands. What is the deal there anyway? Enough is ewolf - uh, enough.

I'm on strike against "wolf" bands.

These guys get a pass because a) they've been around for a while, and have commented themselves on being aghast at all the other "wolf" bands, and b) they're good and c) "werewolves" are a different kind o' wolf.
