I think by your def, toes and soles are more private. They are often covered and hardly explored. The inside of the nose is stretching it; i mean its the inside after all, sort of like a kidney or so.

It is certainly the one of the parts of the body that is well explored by the owner by hardly ever by others. Yet its open to be seen, often flared, toes and soles are not.

My vote for the part of the body that should be referred to as one's "private area" is the cranium; because you don't really get to ever see what goes on inside it -- even when you open it up and take a look at it.
What is commonly referred to as the "private area" should be renamed the "troublesome area"; because, ya' know, at some point or another, it's bound to get you in some (trouble, that is...).

Grigorss--I think it's easier to see what's on someone's mind easier than it is to see up someone's nose. Most of the time anyway. Many times I'd rather see up the nose.

In my culture, the "private area" as your yoga teacher called it, is considered to be everything but a woman's hands and face, and for a man, everything from navel to knees is private! Not to be revealed to anyone but your spouse!
