What's weird is that I have two netflix movies sitting on my shelf here for the last week or so, and one of them is What About Bob. I have never seen it. It's funny you should mention it.

Dude. What are you waiting for? Cut your History of Modern Germany class and behold.

Probably this weekend at some point. Once again, oddly enough, I am a bit behind in my History of Modern Germany readings to the point where 99 minutes for What About Bob is not an option.

I thought everyone just gets their info from Wikipedia now.

You ever see "Quick Change"? Released around the same time as "Bob" (I saw them both in Berkeley at the same theater on Shattuck). To this day, it is my favorite Bill Murray movie, and one of my favorite pre-Rudification NYC movies. Great Geena D., Randy Q., and a terrific cameo from the pre-dead Phil Hartman, who I miss crazy bad sometimes, by the way.

Thanks, Philip, I have queued it!

Another thing about WAB? is that it reminds me that Julie Hagerty was cool--she is like the precursor to Amy Adams. They could play mother-and-daughter, or sisters.

Quick Change also gets a big "thumbs up" from me as being one of -- if not the -- funniest heist movie of the last coupla' decades or so -- really, it's Bill Murray at his finest.
Have only seen bits-n-pieces of WAB? -- it seemed funny; I'll find out now that it's in the queue.

My brow-wow-wowser doesn't like imeem...so I'm not sure what's there - but you need this: http://www.themorningnews.org/archives/reviews/sixword_reviews_of_763_sxsw_mp3s.php or depending on how diaryland handles URLs (I can never remember). Not only the teensy reviews - but a link to the Giant Wow! Size torrent.

That 6-word review thing is brilliant.

Also, my belated comment re: Phil Hartman--I went through a NEWS RADIO (on DVD) phase about 2.5 years ago that really made me miss PH.

I'm staying out of this.

I have a weird kind of visceral reaction to Richard Dreyfus that I can't explain but it's negative. That really stood in the way of my enjoyment of What About Bob when I first saw it years ago. I saw it again recently though and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bob: I have lost your email address and I need your advice about something--can you email me? You can also contact me via the bfob.
