Summer concerts! There are a few that I am looking forward to this year, despite my agoraphobic affliction of late. Miriam Makeba in Prospect Park should be sweet. Amazing voice...

On first glance, I'd say July 24--Akron/Family.

It's a weird line-up--Ollabelle is really straight-up roots/folk, and Akron/Family mine the psych/folk thing, but the latter puts on a stunning and fun live show.

And Ted Leo (7/17) and Mary Weiss (7/18) are probably going to be great.

Atlas Sound (7/25) is the Deerhunter guy, in solo shoegazer mode...

I've seen Ted Leo a few times and he's really good. I'd like to see Mary Weiss also.
