Correct. He also did a record of old jazz; his version of "The Mooche" was in heavy rotation on Spinner years ago. His real name is Veliotes. WP says he's still alive (86)!

What strikes me about that video clip--well, besides the enormous ladies doing the hand-jive--is that his performance is compellingly natural, undated, and dare I say, hep?
