Sales is an interesting profession. If you'd tried to tell me even 20 years ago that I'd be mid-40s and a salesperson I'd have answered with a derisive snort... and it's not like I can picture doing another 20 years. The thing with selling anything though is finding a common ground with the potential buyer because gaining confidence or at least some common factor is first... and next comes the business of mutual agreement on tangible values on the intangible--potential enjoyment of the guitar--what the buyer may be able to create with it. In my case--the value of copyrighted material. Potential ROI. It's a weird game of psychology and not really all that dishonest in most cases. It's taught me a lot of social skills that apply outside of sales situations.
